Fatimah Taj White is a clairvoyant transdisciplinary artist based in New York. Channeling her African American, Indigenous, and Cuban ancestry, she explores math, physics, Indigenous science, fantasy, and the physical act of play through disciplines that transcend our perceptions of the visual arts. Creating from a perspective of nonlinear time, she imbues her work with timeless vibrations of different eras through story, music, dance, and visual art. While an artist, educator, and researcher, she considers herself an ancient creative technologist, revealing hidden wisdom through energetic storytelling.
White received her BFA in Advanced Painting and Art Education from Hofstra University and went on to complete her MFA in Creative Practice from UK Plymouth. She began creating work inspired by 16th and 18th century painting and went on to focus her creative practice on archetypal storytelling and women shamanism all of which led to her exhibiting and lecturing extensively across the globe. Most recently, her artistic practice has expanded into the world of digital technologies and she completed her AI & Machine Learning Metaverse XR AR Certificate from MIT. At this new intersection of her work, she translated her passion for storytelling into exploring ideas of indigenous science from a global perspective.
